Protect your family from home fires.

Who are we?

The International Home Fire Safety Association is dedicated to helping families protect their homes from fires. Every year, nearly 360,000 structural fires occur in the United States, resulting in over 2,500 deaths.[1] Most of these home fires could have been prevented, with the leading causes being from cooking, heating, faulty wiring, smoking, and burning candles.[2] To put an end to home fires, we’re teaching the facts about fire safety and urging capable adults to volunteer at their local fire department.

“In 2005, the NFPA reported that 74 percent of home fire deaths resulted from fires in homes with no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms.”
